About Łukasz Woźniak
Łukasz was born in Kościerzyna, a small town located in Kashubia in the north of Poland. He studied chemistry at the University of Gdansk (BSc) and Jagiellonian University in Kraków (MSc). After completing his masters thesis, he spent time at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. He moved then to Tarragona, Spain to pursue his doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Melchiorre at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) focusing on enantioselective catalysis of photochemical reactions. During this time, he conducted short research stays at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, USA, and at the Institute of Transformative Bio-Molecules in Nagoya, Japan. After earning his PhD in 2017 he moved to Switzerland to conduct postdoctoral studies in the laboratory of Prof. Nicolai Cramer at EPF Lausanne where he worked in the area of enantioselective C–H functionalization. In May 2022 Łukasz returned to Kraków to start his independent research program at the Jagiellonian University as a "NAWA Polish Returns" fellow.
